The Problem

Most of us want to follow Jesus. Almost none of us were taught what that actually looks like on an ordinary Tuesday.

Formation is slow, and that’s not a bug. So instead of another hack or a five-step plan, this is a place to walk through the gospel, the practices, and the character of Jesus — one honest post at a time.

Hi, I’m Andrew

I’m a husband, a dad to two kids, and a pastor in the Pacific Northwest. I studied leadership and the humanities, which is a fancy way of saying history, theology, and English.

I write about a little bit of everything, but mostly about my relationship with God. Writing helps me figure out what I actually think—and whether I’m living like I believe it. Being a husband, dad, and pastor gives me plenty to work through.

I hate megachurches while helping build one. That sentence needs more nuance—a word we probably overuse, sometimes because we’re afraid of being misunderstood.
